Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the Rajya Sabha that the government has established 1.22 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers and will reach the goal of 1.5 lakh such centres by the end of this year. With a focus on the whole person, these Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centers offer amenities including the e-Sanjeevani platform, online outpatient consultation services, and teleconsultation. Additionally, twice a week, these centres would offer yoga courses for wellness. The health of pregnant women would be monitored, and children would receive vaccinations. These would have non-communicable illness testing facilities. These would contain resources for breast, cervical, and oral cancer screening. With an investment of Rs 64,000 crore over the following five years, the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission will significantly improve India's public health infrastructure and facilities. The precise planning and handling of the vaccines made sure that there was never a shortage of syringes or doses, and the world's attention was drawn to India's efforts in the field of health. The minister stated that the government is aware that more work has to be done, and the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission will fill any gaps. The initiative will seek to strengthen services at all levels through critical care centres, testing labs, and robust surveillance system units, with proposed average spends of Rs 100 crore per district. More than 20 crore individuals, he stated, will benefit from digital health accounts under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission. This will also solve the doctor availability to population growth ratio. Along with other programmes like the Ayushman Yojna and the provision of generic medications to the general public through Jan Aushadhi, the government is also seeking to open more AIIMS.
