Since 2014, India has made significant progress in lowering child mortality, dropping from 45 per 1,000 live births to 35 per 1,000 live births in 2019. At the Early Childhood Development Conclave in Mumbai, Dr. Pawar was addressing following the virtual launch of the "Paalan 1000" National Campaign and Parenting App. The cognitive growth of children in the first two years of life is the main topic of "Paalan 1000." The software will offer carers helpful guidance on what they can do in their daily activities and aid them with any questions. Dr. Pawar stressed the significance of a child's early years, emphasising how they can have a lifelong impact. He added that a baby's brain development starts during pregnancy and is influenced by the pregnant woman's health, nutrition, and surroundings. During the first 1,000 days of life—which includes the first two years of development—a developing infant requires the appropriate nutrition, stimulation, affection, and care. A child's physical, mental, emotional, cognitive, and social health are set up in the first 1,000 days. The software combines services created to address the basic needs of the families with coaching for parents, families, and other caregivers. The programme places an emphasis on responsive care and targeted interventions within the first 1,000 days, which is in line with the purpose of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK).
