On September 9, President Droupadi Murmu would essentially inaugurate the "Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan" to reenergize the effort to eradicate tuberculosis from the nation by 2025. According to a public statement, the abhiyaan is a step toward building community support for a patient-centric healthcare system. At the Delhi End TB Summit in March 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a call to action to eradicate tuberculosis in the nation five years before the SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) objective of 2030. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Health, Minister of State for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar, as well as other dignitaries will attend the opening of the abhiyaan. As the nation reaffirms its commitment to TB elimination by 2025, participants from the state and district health administrations, businesses, industries, civil society, and NGOs will attend the virtual event. The contributors, sometimes referred to as Ni-kshay Mitras, can range widely in terms of organisations, businesses, NGOs, and elected officials. The goal of the launch event is to raise awareness of the need for a social strategy that brings people from all walks of life together into a Jan Andolan (public movement) in order to achieve the ambitious goal of eliminating TB from the country by 2025.
