According to Union Minister Jitendra Singh, India is one of the top five countries in the world for producing life-saving, high-risk medical equipment, but the cost of domestically produced ones is only a third or a fourth of that of the four other nations. He emphasized that this reflected Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Atmanirbhar" vision of India becoming self-sufficient in medical technology and medical administration. After officially opening the integrated devices block at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) in this location, the Minister of State (independent charge) for Science and Technology addressed the professors and students. According to him, products like the SCTIMST's artificial heart valve, hydrocephalus shunt, oxygenator, and drug-eluting intrauterine device are produced in the USA, Japan, Brazil, and China. We currently rank among the top five nations in the world for the abundance of these devices. The United States, Japan, Brazil, and China make up the other nations. However, our tools are more affordable; they only cost a third or a fourth as much as those in other nations.
